Stuffed

A couple of weeks ago, over a Friday and Saturday, I ate too much and didn't get enough sleep.

Friday began with an early dinner with Annastasia. It was so early that my mum said I was having dinner at the same time as old people. I picked up Annastasia in my little Tiida, Fergie. It was one of the last days I spent with Fergie.

We arrived at Big Poppa's Burger Bar just after 5:30pm. Ok, yes, we were about to eat at old people dinner time.

The concept of Hip Hop, burgers and Biggie is brilliant. The highlight of the decor was this vibrant tribute by local artist, Shannon Boyd.

The food wasn't quite what we expected. Annastasia and I were under the impression we would be receiving American portions. We ordered the $11 Lil Cease to share. The name and confused look on our friendly waiter's face should've given away the size. It arrived cut in two and I felt like a real food critic.

The burger was okay. I wouldn't rush back to have another one, but if someone suggested dining there, I'd give another burger a go.

In 2015 when I was living in America and stacking on the pounds, freakshakes/loaded shakes became a thing in Australia. I'd always planned to celebrate with one, once I lost my working holiday weight. Well, I finally got my $14 salted caramel loaded shake.

I kind of wish it was more of a thick shake and the popcorn wasn't stale, but the doughnut, Caramello Koala and chocolate covered honeycomb pieces were delish.

Our dining experience with Biggie was complete.

We had a brief window of time to kill before I had to be at a party, so we took Fergie for her last ride down High Street. The windows were down and we blared that song from Furious 7

Then we turned around and took Fergie for her last ride up High Street.

Following an emotional ride I dropped off Annastasia, then picked up Ryan, Celeste, Alex and his guitar. We were on our way to a party at Daniel's. We'll all be performing together in Jesus Christ Superstar (JCS) this May and June.

I was already pretty full, but Ryan forced me to eat pizza.

Many rounds of beer pong ensued. The first between Ryan and Celeste.

Ryan emerged the victor.

Alkira versed Daniel and ended up licking her pride off the table.

Don't worry, she had cleaned the table herself and she only drank thirty percent. Or something like that.

Guitars were played.

Photos of the Ryan, Celeste, Claryse JCS carpool crew were captured.

Noah, Alex and I killed the Living on a Prayer key change.

Ok, the truth is we weren't even halfway there.

Daniel offered us some weird cardboard, sherbet lollies that I'm convinced must've been purchased on the black market. Ryan thought this would be a fantastic time to grab some photos "for the blog."

That photo was taken before I suggested he smile.

We left the party and Ryan was the last to be dropped home. Out the front of his house we watched that terrible, but amazing Sultana Bran ad where the mum loses the plot and the family dog harmonises at the end.

We watched other ads and began to wonder does Decore still exist anymore?

On the Saturday high school friends Keish, Leesh and I intended to go to the Bavarian, but the hype is still strong so we stepped next door to Sittano's.

I enjoyed my steak, sweet potato, broccoli and mushroom sauce. I couldn't be bothered with the awkwardness of eating the corn on the cob followed by yellow bits stuck between my teeth.

Keish and Leesh seemed to enjoy their risotto and wine.

We went back to Leesh and Laur's (another friend from high school) place and drove to Jordan Springs for a stroll around the lake.

Back at Leesh's place, Laur and her husband Elisha came home. We reminisced about the high school days and Keish dropped a bombshell. She hadn't enjoyed the chicken in her risotto at Sittano's. In fact, she had been eyeing off Leesh's chicken.

Keish and I farewelled our friends just before we turned into pumpkins.

This blog post is dedicated to Fergie. I was forced to surrender her a couple of weeks ago due to extensive hail damage. Although she is no longer physically with us, wheel all hold onto the key memories forever.
