The Need for a Feed: 2773

2773 isn't a secret code to be cracked or a random assortment of numbers. It's the postcode of Glenbrook - a town just outside Penrith. 2773 also happens to be the name of a popular restaurant in the Ross Street strip.

The lower Blue Mountains eatery has some comfortable options to kick back in while you wait for that perpetually late friend to arrive.

If you dine here during the summer months be prepared for a little sweat. The heat is soon forgotten as you gaze at the history donning the walls.

Then a member of the friendly waitstaff will approach the table to take your order. This is when you'll realise you've been too distracted to even glance at the reasonably priced, wide variety of menu options.

On one of my more recent visits I opted for the pork belly salad. The pork succulent and the salad fresher than the food people at Woolworths.

I of course shared a friend's fries because that's what friends are for - to let you eat their delicious sweet potato fries with aioli that you neglected to order.

After indulging on a few more fries than might be considered polite, taking the remainder of your own meal home might be required. The lovely waitstaff will even box it up for you, because who wants the awkwardness of spilling stray lettuce leaves on the table?

The restaurant is surrounded by other eateries and fun-to-explore locally run stores. You can purchase lots of homewares, while telling yourself you're just there to window shop.

Next time you're gallivanting around Glenbrook definitely consider stopping by 2773.
