A Schnitty Search: The Lappo

I have assigned myself the enviable role of schnitty judge. My mission is to find the best chicken schnitzel around Penrith. The chicken schnitzel (or schnitty) would not be complete without hot chips and a river of gravy. The humble dish is also often served with a little salad for decoration.

My schnitty search began at the Lapstone Hotel, but you'll almost never hear its full name used. Aussies are big on nicknames and even our pubs aren't safe from our slaughter improvement of the English language.

At The Lappo you'll find chicken schnitzels bigger than your face.

Unfortunately that's where the schnitty praise ends. Turn the $21 crumbed cuisine on its side and you discover plywood - thin and dry. The chips were bland, sad potato portions. The river of gravy? Just a medium size puddle.

Don't think The Lappo is just a schnitty place though. The efficient and friendly servers could bring you a whole range of delicious dishes and beverages. After you've ordered and paid for them, of course.

Aside from the food, you'll also find great atmosphere at this lower Blue Mountains pub. Sometimes live bands set the scene for a bit of a boogie. You can always enjoy a chat and some drinks with your mates, while catching some sport on one of the many screens.

Come to The Lappo for everything, but their chicken schnitzel.

As chief schnitty judge I will not rest until I've found the best. The schnitty quest continues.
