It's finally here. No, I'm not talking about the Good Friday public holiday... It's the first post of my new blog.
My other blog, American Adventures (anaustralianinamerica.blogspot.com) began upon request of my mum. I'm pretty sure she was just worried about me travelling and wanted to keep tabs on my American activities. I quickly discovered it wasn't just my mum keeping tabs. I had a few other readers that weren't related to me. Some of them even asked if I would continue my blogging after leaving America. I can now respond with a resounding, "Nah, yeah." This post may be a little awkward if they were hoping for a hard no.
After much deliberation I decided to blog about my Australian home town - Penrith. This place has way more to offer than its false, negative reputation. Through You're Welcome you can discover restaurants, festivals, bars, pubs, shows, activities and lookouts that are available in Penrith, further west in the Blue Mountains and east to Sydney. You name it, there's a chance it may or may not be in this blog.
My newest writing venture isn't just for my mum. Everyone is welcome. It's for the locals who are bored. Sometimes you've had enough of those ungifted, SingStar obsessed neighbours and want to go out for the day to somewhere other than Penrith Plaza. It's also for the travellers from around Australia who think Penrith is overrun with bogans. And it's for the globetrotters who are still wondering if 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney exists.
So sit back (or stand, whatever) and enjoy this latest blog ride.
You're welcome.
